TMSV – ‘Theory’ EP [BOX CLEVER]

TMSV THEORY ART

Tomas Roels has secured a very strong release schedule for himself since recently finishing university.  Whether this is a result of, or just coincidence, I’ll never know.  Truthfully, I don’t care either.  Anyways, the man has been on a sonic-assault rampage, writing and signing beats quicker than false information regarding Montsanto spreads through the internet.  After announcement of his Artikal UK release backed with a naughty remix from the legend LX One, the underground was left stumped by the immensity of ‘Haze’.  To continue the momentum with a brute force, Box Clever has just announced the six-track (2 digital exclusive) EP that will be released sometime mid-September.  Featuring collaborations with Beezy & Widowmaker, the release promises to be diverse and immensely powerful, as the previews will attest to.

Tracklist:

1. Crashing feat. Beezy
2. Too Much
3. Theory
4. Persei feat. Widowmaker
5. Explain [digital exclusive]
6. Scientific [digital exclusive]

Below are previews to the four beats put on the vinyl.  The tracks ‘Theory’ and ‘Persei’ ft. Widowmaker are my personal favorites, but you can decide for yourself.  Keep your eyes locked on the pages below for future announcements regarding this release and anything else related to the  parties involved.

Blond:ish – ‘Inward Visions’ EP [KOMPAKT]

Blondish Kompakt Art

Blond:ish returns to Kompakt after the dust has settled a bit from their ‘Lovers In Limbo’ EP that dropped last year.  If you somehow missed that release, I strongly encourage you the check it out —————-> HERE.  The Canadian duo have brought two tracks together that embark the listener on a dissonant journey of sound.  ‘No Place Like Gnome’ opens the single with a dark aesthetic maintained through sustained and detuned pads swirling into an ambivalent sense of bewildered wandering, then the journey is reassured by a hearty bassline that rolls beautifully between the swinging drum groove.  The title track carries the ambivalence of ‘No Place Like Gnome’ into a more clearly affirmed direction of discovery, lightening the mood with lush, sun-drenched synths and the hauntingly sexy vocals of Beyou.

I am really hoping (and anticipating) to hear these tunes out at the burn this year via the Robot Heart gang, and can’t wait to get lost in the desert apocalypse vibe these tunes create.  After all, there is certainly no better place to do such things, than at the burn.

Check the links below and stay connected with Kompakt and Blond:ish.  Unfortuantely, there aren’t links I could embed to stream the release in this feature, but you can preview the tracks at any of the buy links below 🙂

Gantz – ‘Stayer/Lyrical Trick’ [IMRV005]

IMRV005 ART

Gantz returns to the Innamind imprint with two rhythmically syncopated beats that showcase the young Turk’s uncanny ability to program drum patterns in a  concise, and intentional manner.  His distant proximity to the UK scene seems to aid in establishing the ‘Gantz’ sound, as his track formulas are generally unique and provide a complex landscape of percussive arrangement not seen in most dubstep.

Emir also just released his track ‘U Won’t Mind’ b/w Thelem’s remix via Black Box records not far back, so make sure the check that one out ———->  HERE.  The remainder of 2013 is going to be exciting as he just recently announced the signing of another 12” that will be out in the near future.  Be sure to follow his page (below) to get further updates on the label and tracks that will be releasing!

‘Live From The Future’ LP Sampler ft. Wayfarer, Seven & Joe Raygun

Uprise Audio - Live From The Future

EZ everyone!

With the blatantly undeniable presence Uprise Audio has asserted over the past few months, I’m sure the title of this feature was nothing unbeknownst to any of you readers.  Seven and his family of producers/promoters/DJ’s/etc. have been a shining example of passionate dedication and the favorable results said characteristics produce.  From their records flying off the shelves to their crew leaving each city they touch fiending for more Uprise, the label has established its position within the dubstep underground – the top.  After releasing three singles, the label announced its debut album – ‘Live From The Future’ – which is due out mid-October of this year.  Harnessing the talent of both established and emerging artists, the album will be a superbly balanced collection of music giving hint to the label’s near future direction.

The label has put out an album sampler featuring tracks from label boss Seven, and extremely talented Wayfarer.  Seven’s track features the vocals of Joe Raygun and bolsters the album’s title, creating a mood beyond suiting, with lushly reverberating chords backed by atmospheric warmth that genuinely has the power to lift your soul to a realm distant from anything sentient.  The engineering of his mid-frequencies create an element of emotion that sidesteps the too commonly heard aggressive reese growl, providing listeners with something clean and refreshing.  The beat sets a precedence of cutting-edge production standards and emotive appeal.  Wayfarer has literally taken the scene by storm with his track ‘Reflections’.  VIVEK giving it the rewind treatment at System is a testament to the immense power this beats holds.  The percussive mastery that Wayfarer has gained through years of drumming prior to his involvement in the dubstep scene bleed through the mixdown with hit after impeccable hit.  This, like ‘Live From The Future’, hits you deep in your soul courtesy of the overwhelmingly powerful vocals and the < 60hz warmth that vibrates through the airwaves.  It’s really a trip to think what else this album will consist of with these two tracks being some of the most noteworthy within dubstep over the past few months.

The release is exclusive to Beatport for now but will be available at all fine retailers fairly soon.  Below are previews to the two tracks off the sampler and links to stay connected with Uprise, Seven, and Wayfarer.  Also, stay tuned for my interview with Wayfarer that will be published sometime next week 🙂
