Wag wan fam. It’s Friday which means for most of us no work, and endless possibilities of how we can take the time off. Many of us will take the time to party and link with friends, and hopefully head out to support our local music scenes. This weekend in LA we have Antiserum and Roomate making an appearance so we’ll have to see what kind of vibes they bring to the decks. Anyways, as always on Fridays going to keep it short and let the tunes do the talking.
First up is some soulful new J:Kenzo tuneage. Some nice vocals on this one accompanied by a steady back riddim.
Next up is a recent track posted by Fable. Track is titled ‘Oscillating Dreams’ and it puts out some truly soulful vibes. Fable is definitely another artist that you want to keep your eyes on the upcoming year as his sounds are steadily progressing and gaining attention from many ends of the game. Big up to Fable!
Next up we got a big tune buy a producer that goes by EAN. Hard to put into words what this tune encompasses, but I could definitely seeing this on a massive system in a rave like setting. Big sounds for sure and FREE download.
.
That’s all we got. Have a good weekend and stayed blessed.
What up fam! It’s your boy Kinman back with some fresh bits that I know will tickle your fancies. If you don’t like them you should probably just delete your Facebook page. I’m hoping a few of you get that one, haha. Anyways, the weather is starting to warm up over here in California (As if it’s not warm pretty much the entire year here) and I got to say, I love California. One of the most gorgeous places on this earth. Anywhere where you have plate activity you’re going to have jaw-dropping natural beauty. Too many people take their surroundings for granted and it bums me out. Just take a few minutes out of your day to really look around you, this earth has so much beauty contained within its borders. I don’t care where you live, there is wonder.
The first tune up today is one from Inkarv. This jam is pure vibes, so it’s not surprise that it was a runner-up for the Outlook Festival producer competition. Honestly one of the more beautiful pieces of music I’ve heard lately. From the inspiring vocal samples to the groovy drum sequencing, this tune is one for the lovers no doubt. Some true eyes down business.
Now we’re going to progress into some more head-nodding jams. The latest release for Osiris Music, coming from the hands of Kaiju. We’ve highlighted some tracks of this guy previously so hopefully you’re familiar with him, if you’re not, then get on it! The A side of the release, titled ‘Close Break’ fully displays Kaiju’s ability to concoct heart-stopping sub-frequencies. The vocal’s that are layered over the track give you a very reassuring vibe. The second tune, ‘Belcanto’, is priceless. Honestly, there really isn’t much I can say about this tune because you need to hear it for yourself. No surprise that KM signed both of these tunes, they’re golden!
Next up we got another one from Percept. The man is just making tune after tune. This one is on the mad bouncy vibe, I’m loving it too! The kicks on this keep your body bouncing while the cinematic ambiances grab your mind and plummet it into the underworld. Big up to Percept on this one and all of his recent accomplishments!
To close things out for the night I have two MASSIVE tunes from different artists, Killawatt & Quantam Soul, and Legend4ary. These tunes are madddnesssssss, both of them. To see Killawatt and Quantam Soul on the same track made my stomach erupt with butterflies because I knew it was going to be something just off the charts massive, and it was. I can’t imagine this tune going unsigned and if it does I will be quite disappointed because this is definitely a platter that I want in my crates. The other bit from Legend4ry is another roller that can set the dance off HARD! Legend4ry is one of the most underrated producers, in my opinion, so spread this guys sounds around! A straight badman on the buttons.
Alright fam, blessings upon all of you, can’t express how grateful we are to have such a dope community (you guys) that we can share all of this great music with. Until next time…
Welcome back friends and fellow deep heads. For today’s feature we have a mix and a couple freebies to hold you over until the weekend, but most importantly we’re gonna introduce a stateside producer that everyone should be keeping their ears out for. Seattle’s TZR started out his electronic epoch as a drum and bass dj, then took hold of dubstep, and now is giving Us dubstep a good name with heaps of releases to back him up. His sounds can best be described as deep, dark and eerie. The experienced listener can hear his drum and bass background shine through in most tracks and it most definitely proves to his advantage. Coming at people with persistent rolling basslines, energetic drums and spacious synths, TZR is surely an artist to follow.
With a slew of tracks on a range of labels, TZR’s music is widely available to the public and listening is highly encouraged. Check out his most recent EP on California based sub Pressure Recordings:
.
He gave out a free tune today with pal, Issa:
.
Fellow bloggers FatKidOnFire got an interview and downloadable mix with, TZR back in October. Get the down low here.
Next up is a freshly broadcast radio set from New Zealand’s up and comer, Tallan. Previously featured on the site, check out this post or his Soundcloud to introduce yourself to Tallan, or better yet, listen to this mix of all original tracks.
.
The mix was blasted on sub.fm and dives in deep and tribal, then picks up halfway through with a range of percussive and sub heavy bangers (even a 140 jungle track too). Download this mix, do what you will with it, and make sure to follow Tallan on Soundcloud and Facebook
Yo! We baaaaack. Hope everybody is well. If you’re not, hopefully these tunes can brighten up your day :). Don’t have time to write much today, I have some major schoolwork to handle. <BLAH. Anyways, let’s get down to it!
First track for today is another one from the man who has been turning peoples heads HARD lately, Wayfarer. We highlighted an absolutely MASSIVE tribal rhythm that he produced called ‘Fall Of The Zulu’ recently and the tune that we have for you today is another top-notch production. This one is a bit of a different approach but, nonetheless, will set the vibes off in a real proper fashion. I anticipate that this guy will be making some XXXXXL moves in the year to come so keep your ears locked for more of his sounds!
Next on the buttons is the Chestplate family member, District. Coming hard with pounding kick drums and a reese bass that can summon the most evil of thoughts into your head. I’m talking zombie rave status. Or maybe an underground (I literally mean underneath the earth) club that has no light in it, just people head nodding in an untamed manner. Yeah, I have weird thought, WHAT?! Haha. Anyways take a listen to this one and make sure you check underneath your bed after.
Content is the mastermind behind this next tune. As with Wayfarer, I think this guy is going to be a top competitor for ‘Best New Producer’ this year in the DSF awards, no joke. He’s putting out tune after tune in a Killawatt-ish fashion. I know the Subculture crew has to be mad stoked to have him aboard the team. The entire Subculture roster is heading for big things this year with cats like Pressa, Demon, Crises, Pistonsbeneath, fuck, theres too many to list! Respect to the crew from over here stateside.
This last track is from a producer I know nothing about. Got wind of it from the AJP crew earlier today. Definitely on a different tip than the previous tunes but, it’s DOPE!
.
That’s it for the tunes today but, before I send you off I have one more gem for you. US bossman Noah D put together an absolutely magnificent mix for the SMOG podcast series. Bringing a true west coast style to the decks and showcasing his new tunes alongside many others this mix will be a very well-spent 30 minutes of your life. I GUARANTEE IT! Lend your ears and clear your mind.
What it do people. Back from the weekend, FUUUUUUUUUU. The weather has been tripping me and my body out lately. First it’s hot and sunny, then it’s raining and windy as a hell. Me thinks some crazy shit is about to happen on a natural disaster type level. 2012 brooooooooo. Speaking of 2012, isn’t it funny that the mayan calendar never factored in the ‘leap years’ that Caeser created back in 400bc -ish. So, technically the world should have ended over a year-and-a-half ago if you follow the actual mayan calendar. People sometimes, haha. Anyways, enough of my dumb fact for the day session. Let’s get into some weight.
Today I’m really vibin’ off of really stripped down, dark sounds, although one of the tunes isn’t very dark at all. I got four large ones for all your ears.
First track is one from the badman Droid Sector. This guy has a really sick rack of releases under his belt, with labels like Subway, Avocaudio, and Gradient, and 2012 is looking to make it even larger. This tune, called ‘Slenderman’, was just upped onto his Soundcloud a few hours ago so it’s quite fresh, in it’s style, as well as it’s public life. It’s only a clip but, it’s forthcoming on Paradise Lost so make sure you snag it on up. It’s not due out for a month or so, we will be sure to remind you about in case you forget. Lend an ear.
Second track is such a large tune. A remix that Knowledge did of an untitled Pheral dub. M.U.D./M.U.V. lineup is straight killing it this year. This is a deep roller for the heads, no doubt. Nuff’ said.
This next track is little bit on the brighter side and has a lot of real groovy vibes. The snare/clap work on this tune is really dope. It’s a track from Fable called ‘Culture Music’. The vocal sample worked in real nice and adds some complimenting organics to the track.
The last track is from long time veteran Heny G. This guy has been pushing beneath the scene since the early-early days, rinsing house party gigs and pirate radio stations b2b Silkie. There has been a lot of anticipation for his album ‘Child Hood’ for the past year or so, hopefully it will see a release soon! The track, titled ‘I C Everything’, fills up the space in your head with some ‘Gangsta Boogie Music’ as the man himself puts it. He’s on his own plane. His music is so unique and fresh, truthfully. Really hope we see a release on this album soon.
